16 Girls Take Overdose Drugs at School in Colombia
Sixteen girls, aged 12 to 14, of a religious school in Colombia's capital were sent to a hospital on Friday after taking overdose anti-depressants, said Bogota's health officials.

The students were given emergency treatment at the Engativa Hospital in west of the city, Bogota's Health Secretary Hector Zambrano told local media

"The girls are out of danger," said Zambrano, noting although two of them still remained in intensive care units.

Zambrano declined to comment on earlier reports that these girls, classmates at the La Presentation College, took the medicine for committing suicide.

Some of the girls' parents told local radio that the students were burdened with "an excessive study load."

The incident occurred seven days after the students received their report cards, which according to some of the parents, were unfavorable to many of them.
