Nicaragua Claim Right to Request Posada Extradition
Aldo Diaz Lacayo, the ambassador to represent the Sandinista Government at the United Nations, defended on Friday Nicaragua´s right to request extradition of terrorist of Cuban origin Luis Posada Carriles from the United States.

Nicaragua is in its full right to request Luis Posada Carriles´s extradition, the diplomat, who will travel to New York in the coming weeks to assume his post, told Prensa Latina.

According to Diaz Lacayo, the decision is right, because the criminal "was one of the executors of ex President Ronald Reagan´s administration terrorist policy against the Sandinista Revolution in the ´80s.

The most important aspect to consider I this case is that he was not accused of terrorism by the US justice, but as a common citizen that violated the US laws, the Nicaraguan analyst and historian denounced.

Diaz Lacayo said the parole granted on Thursday to the criminal is a concession by the US legal system to the Executive power. Posada Carriles was released after being almost two years in a Texan prison, for having lied to the US migratory authorities on his entrance to that country.

The terrorist, trained and financed by the CIA, is responsible for the explosion of a Cuban civil aircraft with 73 people on board, in front of the Barbadian coasts in 1976.

After escaping from a Venezuelan prison in 1985, when he was awaiting his sentence for his crime in Barbados, he participated in the dirty war by Washington against the Sandinista Revolution, to the orders of Colonel Oliver Norton, notorious for the Iran-Contras scandal.

President Daniel Ortega announced on Thursday, shortly after the criminal was released in the United States that Nicaragua will request the terrorist´s extradition from the US authorities.

Washington refuses to deport him to Cuba or Venezuela.
