Salvador Violence Gives No Easter Truce
The number of Salvadorian deaths by violence reached 15 in the first five days of the observed Easter holidays, a National Civil Protection System report published on Friday.

The report informed that most of the deaths were by firearms, although eight other deaths were by suffocation, caused by immersion in this week off.

In relation to traffic accidents, the government entity reported over 300 cases this week, a number slightly lower than that of the previous year.

Some 100 people were wounded by sharp instruments used as weapons, and other violent incidents that caused multiple traumas, fractures and burns.

According to Salvadorian Government Minister Juan Miguel Bolaños, 22,000 agents of the police, military, social security, health, and different aid corps are assisting people on roads, rivers, beaches, and tourist centers of the country.
