Nicaragua Braced against
Election Fraud
The Latin American Council of
Election Experts (CEELA) said
local and international
observers would frustrate any
attempt of fraud at presidential
elections in Nicaragua.
CEELA officials denied the
possibility to El Nuevo Diario,
as they will check on polling
stations and computer network.
They will also verify copies of
the voting registration to
compare them to the official
turnout released by the Election
Court, recalled the Council of
Experts.
Some three million voters are
registered to elect on November
5 the president of Nicaragua
until the year 2012.
The people will have to choose
between five conservative or
neoliberal candidates and the
Sandinista National Liberation
Front, which leads the polls.
