No Fraud Syndrome in
Nicaragua Election
Nicaragua s Supreme Electoral
Council (CSE) affirmed Thursday
it will change challenge rules
that could possibly give rise to
discrepancies during the coming
general elections.
The decision is linked to a
controversial regulation on vote
counting that has been
criticized by several political
representations, for it would
lead to an endless series of
complaints and counter-demands
in the November elections.
The rules establish, among other
points, that if any member of
the Ballot Receiving Board (JRV)
argues against counting rolls,
the voting in that jurisdiction
would be annulled.
The CSE indicated it will spare
no efforts to guarantee clear
presidential and parliamentary
elections.
