Alleged American Fraud Artists Extradited
Sources at Interpol in Costa Rica confirmed that the joint police action between officials of the Organismo de Investigación Judicial (OIJ) and United States Marshals, concluded in the successful and uneventful extradition of two Americans, last Thursday.

Bryan Cole and Martin Kelchstein, who are suspected of leading a band dedicated to fraud were, under close guard, handed over by OIJ officials to U.S. authorities at the Juan Santamaría (San José) airport, and boarded a U.S. bound flight at noon on Thursday.

Officials say he movement of the two men was on a commercial flight directly to North Carolina. (The only airline that provides daily service between Charlotte and San José is USAir.)

Cole and Kelchstein and their group apparently operated a scheme where victims were offered false prizes. Victims were asked to deposit money into an account as show of good faith before they could claim their prize.

Both Cole and Kelchstein accepted voluntary extradition, according to Interpol.

Costa Rican authorities also confirm that Germán Concrini, Guisseppe Febelggi, Víctor Custra, Maicol Atilio Mangorela, Dayan Beyerly Singuenzo and Michael Forchemer are waiting extradition to the United States.

According to Interpol, the group operated in Costa Rica and the United States, where another five suspected where arrested by U.S. authorities.
