Morales with Guatemala Indigenous
Bolivian President Evo Morales is kicking off Tuesday a visit to Guatemala, where he will meet with his counterpart Oscar Berger and take part in the 7th General Assembly of the Latin American Indigenous Fund (FIL).

After his arrival, Morales will hold with Berger a private meeting at the National Palace of Culture.

The Bolivian leader will attend the inauguration and the first day of the FIL assembly, which will look at problems affecting native groups in this hemisphere such as access to health, education and land plus migration consequences.

He, along with Nobel Peace Prize winner Rigoberta Menchu, will be decorated for his contributions to the development of the regional indigenous communities.

Guatemalan Vice President Eduardo Stein announced the possibility that Morales gather with the presidents of Honduras and Nicaragua to form a strategy to pardon a debt with the Inter-American Development Bank.

Wednesday afternoon, Evo Morales will wrap up the visit in this Central American state, from where he will fly to Cuba to participate in the 14th Summit of the Non Aligned Movement.

His agenda also includes a trip to New York to attend sessions of the UN General Assembly.
