Fidel Castro Rewards Cuban Child
President Fidel Castro gave a digital camera to Raysel Sosa Gonzalez, the child brutally humiliated by Japanese Nikon Company that denied him, in virtue of the US blockade, the object he had won.

Nikon joined a Washington clause banning the entry to Cuba of product or equipment with US-made components as part of the commercial, financial and economic barrier it keeps against the island.

Such a position has been sharply rapped by thousands of worldwide people and nearly a hundred have offered a similar present to the boy.

Deputy Public Health Minister Roberto Gonzalez gave Fidel´s present to the child in his school in Havana in the presence of relatives and friends.

Raysel was recently feted in Algeria for winning a UN-sponsored 15th International Children´s Painting Competition on the Environment but could not receive his Nikon camera as part of his prize like the other winners.
