Panama Reviews Public Transport
Panamanian authorities carried out an unprecedented review to detect public transportation difficulties after a bus burned and killed 18 persons.

Officials from the Bus Traffic Authorities (ATTT) and the Police and Traffic Agents began to check up the physical and mechanic conditions of buses.

Over 90 were taken out of circulation because of damage that had caused problems to public transport users.

The drivers went on strike in response to that measure.

Nevertheless The Transportation National Chamber (CANATRA) announced it would call off the measure and fix up buses after the meeting with the government officials.
