Guatemalan Patients vs. Resolution
About 6,000 Guatemalan patients with cancer, AIDS and diabetes are due to decide actions Wednesday against a controversial resolution that suspended the delivery of vital medicines for them.

On Friday, the Constitutionality Court (CC) presented a resolution to a private pharmaceutical company, prohibiting that the Guatemalan Social Security Institute distribute medicines purchased by the Pan-American Health Organization.

According to the Lanquetin firm, those generic products lack health registration in the country, so it requested the top constitutional court not to accept these drugs anymore.

But the measure put into dangerous risk people with chronic and terminal diseases, untreated since then.

Due to the urgency of the case and impossibility of purchasing medicines, they convened an assembly to analyze pressure measures and revert the decision.
