Nicaraguan Government Says: Let the Election Begin
President Enrique Bolaños asserted Tuesday that his government has the necessary funds to finance a possible second electoral round in Nicaragua, a possibility that would be unprecedented in the country s history.

Everything is ready, and funds are certain, the president said, adding that regional governments will guarantee there will not be power outages on November 5.

According to the Supreme Electoral Council (CSE), organizing a second round would cost an additional 10 million dollars.

Of that amount, some 4.5 million would be used to create the necessary conditions for the second round, while the rest would be used for logistics, including printing ballot papers and other expenses.
