Cable Theft Leaves Thousands in the Dark
Residents in the area south of San José - Barrio Cuba, Sagrada Familia and parts of Hatillo - the power failure that kept the area in the dark for hours was a result of the growing problem of cable theft.

Authorities say that several men trying to steal cable cut a secondary power line causing an explosion and the power outage. One man was reported suffering injuries from the high voltage discharge that provoked the explosion.

The Compañía Nacional de Fuerza y Luz (power and light) has been working all morning to restore power.
