Keep Brains at Home
President Oscar Arias pointed
out that Costa Rica must export
goods rather than brains, as is
the case elsewhere in Central
America.
“I would rather have good jobs
here for young Costa Ricans, who
at the end of the month get
their pay, and not have their
parents collect their
remittances from abroad,” the
president said during the
inauguration of the Argilis
Group plant in La Aurora,
Heredia.
He did so in relation to
remittals from Costa Ricans
working abroad, which reached
almost us$400 million last year.
