Chavez Warns on New Subversive
Plans
Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez
warned on new subversive plans
against his government by some
radical opposition sectors, to
cloud the local electoral
process.
"There are very few days for
December 3. I alert the whole
country, the authorities and
institutions on new
destabilizing plans," he said.
Chavez pointed out that some
opposition groups are going to
try to destabilize the process,
and he exhorted the Venezuelan
people and Armed Forces (FAN) to
keep alert.
He alerted the opposition groups
and communication media to
desist on practicing subversion
and alter the law and public
order.
He told opposition communication
media not to provoke or promote
images of violence, interviews
or opinions that might help to
create or spread violence during
the process.
He also called officials to
defend the Venezuelan democracy
and criticized the fact that
opposition groups have stated
there will be fraud in the
December 3 elections.
He said any TV network or
channel publishing or
transmitting any messages of
terrorism, hatred, war or
incitation to rebellion, or
incitation to ignore the
authorities, would be closed.
"Simply, we are not going to let
such a thing happen. We won"t
let Venezuela be full with blood
once again. And the people of
Venezuela will know how to
impose its will," he concluded.
