Ortega: No More Famine in
Nicaragua
Nicaraguan president-elect
Daniel Ortega assured
representatives of international
financial bodies that his future
government has the priority to
eliminate hunger affecting over
a million people in his nation.
He made that assertion after
meeting in Managua with
officials of the International
Monetary Fund, the World Bank
and the Inter American
Development Bank.
According to Ortega, they should
create conditions to insert the
poor in the economic activity
and become them active.
He announced Thursday evening
they are setting some tentative
dates to meet with finance
organizations after his January
10 inauguration.
