Cuban Documentaries in Nicaragua
The US-imposed economic war and
the current humanitarian labor
of the island's physicians were
the main courses of an
exhibition of Cuban cinema
presented in Nicaragua, with
massive audiences.
"Bloqueo: La guerra contra Cuba"
(Blockade: The War against Cuba)
and "Montaña de Luz" (Mountain
of Light) are the two
documentaries screened in this
capital on Tuesday night, in the
framework of the 3rd Cinema
Festival organized by the Latin
American Countries Group.
The film by Argentinean
filmmaker Daniel Desaloms
unmasks the origin and
consequences of the measure
designed by Washington 46 years
ago, after trying to make the
Cubans give in due to
starvation.
The second documentary deals on
the altruist labor thousands of
health professionals are doing
in Central America, the
Caribbean and Africa.
