Venezuela Rejects Lies About Oil
Deal
Venezuelan deputy Pedro Carreño
warned in Nicaragua that the
current intrigue over agreements
between that country's mayor
offices and Petroleos de
Venezuela (PDVSA) only seeks to
derail regional integration.
The legislator denied the accord
signed by the Association of
Nicaraguan Municipalities (AMUNIC)
to import fuel favors the
Sandinista Front for National
Liberation, as the government
and other local rightwingers
say.
"The United States is
Venezuela's main oil purchaser,
and I don't think that country
is a left-wing group," said
Carreño in statements to local
press.
The Homeland For All party
deputy is leading a
parliamentary delegation
visiting Nicaragua, also invited
to attend the Sao Paulo Forum's
Middle American Meeting last
weekend.
The agreement signed by AMUNIC
and PDVSA in April includes
imports of 10 million oil
barrels yearly, with favorable
payment conditions.
