Guatemala Anti-FTA Vigil Grows
Several popular organizations have joined the on-going vigil in front of the Guatemalan Constitutional Court, where a bill against the free trade agreement with the US is being discussed Thursday.

Wednesday, groups belonging to the Frente Nacional de Lucha (FNL) and the Mesa Global coalition, the Anti-imperialist Bloc, the National Health Union and farmers from eastern Jalapa Province participated in the demonstration against that deal.

FNL leader Jose Callejas told Prensa Latina the rally in front of the Court today is to buttress the anti-FTA unconstitutionality recourse presented February 24.

The Constitutional Court convened a hearing for Thursday to listen to arguments from State representatives supporting the FTA with the US and those of at least 30 organizations that reject it.
