$20 Million for National Parks
The ministries of Tourism and
the Environment are negotiating
a us$20-million loan from the
Inter American Development Bank
in order to improve the
facilities and the services of
national parks, as well as the
access roads and bridges leading
to them.
According to Minister of Tourism
Carlos Benavides, the
improvements in the parks
include better trails, signs,
and basic services, such as
small-order restaurants and
bathrooms.
"We are analyzing the most
critical areas, particularly
regarding the access to parks,"
Minister Benavides said.
