Czechs Interested in Trains
The Czech firm Inekon Group requested that the Government of Costa Rica grant it the operation of passenger trains.

Inekon representative Jochem Sassen said that they want to operate the Alajuela-Heredia-San José and the Cartago-San José lines.

"Our project includes a double line, in order to increase the number of rides and that the cost of tickets be equal to the distance traveled", Sassen said.

The trains would operate on electricity and the original investment would be us$120 million dollars.
