Humala for Latin America Power Bloc
Sure of winning elections on Sunday, Union por el Peru (UPP) presidential hopeful, Ollanta Humala, has pleaded for Latin American integration.

"Our goal is to consolidate the Andean Community of Nations (CAN) as a body from which we will negotiate free trade agreements with the European Union and the US," Humala told Prensa Latina during a press conference with foreign media.

"The most logical thing is that, as a bloc, we try to sign free trade agreements with powerful countries," said Humala while expressing his hope for Venezuela returning to CAN.

He accused his rival of Aprista Party (APRA), Alan Garcia, and supporters of having forced Caracas to quit the group founded in 1969 to support regional unity.

In reference to attacks against his candidacy, Humala said he was not in favor of violent solutions to Peruvian problems, and stressed that even if he does not come put as a winner on Sunday, he will continue joining forces to change the country for the better.
