Foreign Investment Up
The amount of direct foreign investment in Costa Rica this year will surpass the early estimates of the Central Bank and is likely to reach, for the first time ever, us$1 billion.

The Bank had estimated that line at us$664 million in 2006; however, the purchase alone of Interfin Bank by Scotia Bank will surpass us$293 million.

The largest preceding figure corresponds to last year, when it reached us$877 million.
