Mid Year Vacation Begins
Some 1.053.345 students left
school yesterday not to return
for another two weeks as the
mid-year vacations begin. Happy
faces were the norm in all
schools. The mid-year vacation
is a two week break in the
school year that ends in
December.
For many Costa Ricans this is
also a traditional time to head
for the beaches and mountains.
Hotels and resorts are pretty
well sold out During the next
two weeks ending July 16, a room
at the last minute can cost you
as much as double the normal
rate, if you can get one.
Transit police are already out
in full force on the nation's
highways and bi-ways, keeping a
close eye on speeding and
drinking and driving.
