Nicaragua Seizes 500 Kilos of Coke
Nicaragua National Police reported Thursday that the cocaine consignment seized in Peñas Blanca, some 90 miles south of the capital on the border with Costa Rica, is over 500 kilos.

The seizure early Wednesday morning occurred at the border post, and it was first announced that the load was 250 kilos.

The drug was hidden under a load of 20 tons of scrap metal being transported to Guatemala in a truck carrying a Costa Rican license plate.

The existence of a considerable quantity of auto oil filters among the metal and the fact that metal was full of lubricant called the attention of the police, according to the declaration of local press.

The driver, Nicaraguan citizen, Manuel Jesus Morales, was arrested.
