Bolivia May Take Sea Access to
OAS
The new Bolivian ambassador at
the Organization of American
States, Reynaldo Cuadros,
affirmed Friday that sea access
cold be an issue to be taken to
that multilateral organization.
Though the issue is included in
a bilateral agenda with Chile,
the official strategy to solve
the bilateral dispute could be
presented at the OAS, Cuadros
noted.
The Bolivian diplomat called the
maritime issue very delicate,
adding it is taking place at a
time when Bolivia-Chile talks
are intensifying.
On several occasions La Paz has
used the OAS multilateral
scenario to demand access to the
Pacific Ocean, thus putting an
end to century-old row with
Santiago.
