Venezuela Generators to
Nicaragua
The first Venezuelan generators
will arrive in Nicaragua in two
days and will start working in a
couple of weeks to palliate the
energy crisis in this country,
reported a source of
construction.
In declarations to local press
the Managua mayor and vice
president of the
Nicaragua-Venezuela mixed
enterprise Nicaragua Alba Oil (ALBANIC)
Dionisio Marenco noted the
equipment arrived in Puerto
Limon, Costa Rica on Monday.
He said the first generators
made of 16 units will be in
Nicaragua on December 28.
The plants, with capacity of
generating up to 60 megabytes of
energy, will supply half of the
energy deficit existing in the
Central American nation.
Marenco and the Sandinistas
authorities announced the
arrival of other generators to
cover the entire deficit by
halfway through 2007.
