Havana Film Fest in Sixth Day
Havana movies open their doors
to the huge turnout eager to
watch the 105 works in
competition and 400 parallel
showings of films at the 28th
edition of the New Latin
American Cinema Festival.
Since Tuesday, when the event
began, thousands of buffs have
crowded Yara cultural complex
seeking the best of the regional
productions.
Havana film festival enters
Sunday into its sixth day with
over 50 movies, among them "The
Guardian" by US Andrew Davis,
not in competition, starred by
Kevin Costner and Ashton Kutcher.
For the second consecutive time,
"The Queen", the most recent
film by British director Stephen
Frears, will be screened at Yara
movies.
Meanwhile, competition continues
with feature films Los 12
trabajos by Ricardo Elias
(Brazil); Mariposa negra by
Franciso Lombardi, and Madeinusa
by Claudia Llosa, both from Peru
as well as El cielo dividido by
Mexican Julian Hernandez..
Chile is represented with Padre
nuestro by Rodrigo Sepuveda
while Cuba presents Paginas del
diario de Mauricio by Manuel
Pérez and La edad de la peseta
by Pavel Giroud.
