Centenarian Looking Forward To 2010 Elections
Not all Costa Ricans decided not to vote in yesterday's municipal elections. One of them was Adilio Carmona Sibaja, who at 101, and without a cane or support from his daughter accompanying him, displayed a vigor envy of a younger man, to cast his vote in table 216 of the Juan Chávez school in Cuidad Quesada, San Carlos.

"God treats me with much compassion and hope to still have my eyes open for 2010, because I like to vote", said Adilio with a smile to the waiting press.

And did Adilio vote for? "I have always supported the PLN and this year is no exception", he said.

The centenarian said that he had to cast his vote publicly because he forgot to bring his reading glasses.

This is the 80th year that Adilio has been voting. "First it was with a stamp, then with a tint and now with a X... this is much easier", he said.
