1,500 New Jobs at Wal-Mart
As part of its expansion here,
Wal-Mart Costa Rica announced
that it will hire 1,500 new
employees.
The openings range from
managerial positions to
cashiers, according to
spokesperson Aquileo Sanchez.
Currently, Wal-Mart employs
8,000 workers in its
supermarkets throughout Costa
Rica.
The first store to bear the
Wal-Mart name is currently under
construction in Escazú, across
the highway from the EPA
hardware store.
Wal-Mart purchased a controlling
share of the corporation that
operates the Hipermas department
stores in the Central Valley and
the Mas x Menos, Palí and
MaxiBodegas supermarkets across
the country.
