Nicaragua Political Parties
Redouble Election Efforts
Main Nicaraguan political
parties continue Monday their
propaganda campaigns for the
November elections, amid
accusations on US manipulations.
Surveys on intention to vote
favor firstly the Sandinista
Front for National Liberation (FSLN),
followed by the Nicaraguan
Liberal Alliance and the
Constitutionalist Liberal Party.
Other minority groups like the
Sandinista Renovating Movement
and the Alternative for Change
Party also have popular support.
The electoral campaign is
expected to conclude on November
1, four days before voting,
which in addition to President,
will also elect 90 new national
legislators and 20 members of
the Central American Parliament.
This time, Nicaraguan
conservative sectors could not
overcome internal conflicts and
presented fragmented programs
that provoked diverse political
alliances.
The FSLN electoral platform
proclaimed there will be a
humble and fraternal campaign
for the good of all people, and
in favor of reconciliation and
national confidence.
