Road Repairs Announced by the
MOPT
Ok, get set, ready, go.
The Ministerio de Obras Públicas
y Transporte (MOPT) announced
yesterday that, beginning today
and continuing until Sunday, a
number of roads will be
re-paved, storm sewers cleaned
and have lines painted.
The roads affected will be: San
José (La República- Río Sucio,
Calle Blancos - Uruca), Los
Santos (Plaza del Sol- La Galera,
Tarbaca- La Sierra), San Ramón (Espino
- Río La Vieja, San Ramón -
Límite Palmares, Limite San
Ramón-Naranjo), Alajuela Sur
(Barrio San José- Río Poás- Río
Prendas, La Garita- Río Grande-
Atenas, Atenas - Desmonte).
In addition, the following roads
will be affected: Alajuela Norte
(Radial Alajuela, Manolos -
intersección Grecia), Cartago (Curridabat
- Cerro Piedra Alta), Turrialba
(Río Blanquillo-Paraíso, Paraíso
-Birrís), Heredia (Río Segundo -
Alajuela, Río Virilla - Heredia,
Heredia - San Rafael - Cruce
Monte La Cruz), and Guápiles (Guápiles-
Siquirres, Guácimo - Siquirres).
If you are travelling to any one
of these areas or roads, keep in
mind that there will be
slowdowns and in some cases
temporary closures, while work
crews make the repairs.
A reminder that the
Circunvalación - the ring road
from La Uruca to San Pedro on
the south side of San José - is
closed nightly from 8pm to 6am.
