Costa
Rica Unveils World Cup Shortlist
Costa Rica coach Alexandre
Guimaraes has unveiled a
shortlist of 28 players for the
2006 World Cup finals in
Germany.
The list of 28 will eventually
be cut back to 23.
Costa Rica are in Group A at the
June 9 - July 9 finals along
with Germany, Poland and
Ecuador.
They will play the opening match
of the tournament against the
hosts on June 9 in Munich.
As part of their build-up Costa
Rica will face a Catalan XI on
May 24 in Barcelona as well as
the Ukraine in Kiev on May 28
and the Czech Republic two days
later in Prague.
