Arias
Says He Will Stand Firm in His
Fight Against Corruption
President-elect Oscar Arias will
commence his second four year
term as president on May 8 in
Zapote, however, he might end
his term in a different Casa
Presidencial. Arias yesterday
confirmed that he his evaluating
the possibility of moving the
Casa Presidencial - government
offices.
"The current building is not
suitable for a Casa Presidencial.
We have all known that for some
time."
Arias added that "we have to be
more creatie and find a more
adequate location.
But where? Although there is no
specific location in mind, the
former AID building in Rohrmoser
or Casa Amarilla in downtown San
José are two possible locations,
Arias said.
Speaking before 440 graduates of
the Universidad Interamericana,
Arias said that his fight
against corruption will be firm.
To combat corruption, Arias told
is audience, that one of his
first steps is to bring the
people to his administration.
Arias said he wants a "Costa
Rica that no one tolerates
corruption and everyone
denounces all cases."
