Presents FTT with Singapore
Panamanian Minister of Trade and
Industries (MICI) Alejandro
Ferrer presented a bill to the
Panamanian National Assembly
Thursday to adopt a free trade
treaty between Panama and
Singapore.
Ferrer highlighted the
importance of this agreement
with one of the so-called
"Tigers" of Southeast Asia,
besides being a leader in
maritime and logistics in its
region of the world, as is
Panama.
The MICI chief pointed out the
attractiveness of a market of
four million inhabitants
dedicated to services and
industry, with high acquisitive
power, ideal for Panama´s
agro-industrial products which
will have no import taxes.
This is a country with advanced
information technology, which it
is disposed to share with us, as
well as providing us the
possibility of becoming its
commercial partner par
excellence in Latin America," he
told the Legislature.
