Was Wet Enough For You Yesterday?
We forgot what its like during the rainy season. But yesterday, we were quickly reminded.

T
he weatherman - the Instituto Meteorológico Nacional (IMN) - says that a tropical wave over the Central Pacific caused the heavy downpour and rain well into the night Monday and could continue into today in some areas.

The sky to the southwest yesterday afternoon was dark and filled with lightening bolts. It was 1pm when the mountains behind Escazú and Santa Ana were ominous and threatening. It wasn't until 2pm that the downpour was felt in the heights of El Carmen and San Antonio de Escazú and making it's way into San José.

The rain hit downtown about 3:30pm, heavy at times, and continued into the small hours of Tuesday morning.

September and October see the greatest amount of rain of the rainy season. However, this year, September has been pretty good, not much rain and on several occasions, there has been no rain for a couple of days at a time.

This has many worried, that the dry rainy season could affect the "dry" season beginning mid November.
