Aeropostal Alas de Centroamérica,
New Low-Cost Airline in Costa
Rica, Signs with RASSA
RASSA, a leading provider of new
generation Web-based airline
reservations solutions, signed
an agreement with Aeropostal
Alas de Centroamérica, the new
low-cost carrier of Costa Rica.
RASSA's [email protected] system will
enable Aeropostal Alas de
Centroamérica to initiate
operations at a great advantage
over its competition – handling
real-time inventory management
and reporting with extremely low
distribution costs and great
revenue enhancement
capabilities.
Functional modules of the [email protected]
system include flight
information, fares management,
seat inventory control,
reservations, sales, ticketing,
check-in, as well as unique
sales distribution and
management reports. With this
agreement, RASSA secures another
low-cost airline customer in the
region.
José Luis Tolosa, founding
partner and Chief Sales Officer
of RASSA, said "we have been
working closely with Aeropostal
Alas de Centroamérica and
welcome it as our newest client
in Latin America. Its low cost
model is a clear sign of
Aeropostal Alas de
Centroamérica's commitment to
the future of commercial
aviation and positions the
airline to take a leading role
in the region. RASSA will
provide Aeropostal Alas de
Centroamérica on an exclusive
basis with state-of-the-art
technology, a large team of very
talented airline industry and
leading edge technology experts
and a reservations system
designed to ensure its success."
Rodrigo Troyo, General Manager
of Aeropostal Alas de
Centroamérica emphasized that
"our company is expected to
commence operations in October
of this year flying DC9s and
MD82/83s within Central America,
and to South America and the
Caribbean. In the future, we
also plan to fly to North
America. [email protected] is considered
to be instrumental in achieving
our goals, enabling us to build
an efficient and cost-effective
operation where distribution
costs are kept very low and
revenue efficiencies maximized
especially considering the very
high prices of fuel."
[email protected] allows airlines to
reduce distribution costs
through direct Internet
connectivity, eliminating costly
communications expenses; gain
efficiencies in serving
passengers through a
user-friendly point-and-click
interface; and allow airline
management real-time access to
all sales and operational
activities within the system, as
business occurs. This eliminates
the traditional 24-hour waiting
periods for information reports.
Aeropostal Alas de Centroamérica
S.A. was founded in Costa Rica
in 2003. Its principal
operations will be at Juan
Santamaría International Airport
out of which it will operate a
fleet of DC9s and MD 82/83s.
Aeropostal Alas de Centroamérica
expects to begin operations in
October 2005.
