3.000 TDMA Cellular Lines on Sale Today
Looking for that cellular telephone line? The Instituto Costarricense de Electricidad (ICE) announced that it will offer today (Monday) for sale TDMA lines to the first 3.000 customers.

There are lines that have come back to ICE for non-payment by its customers.

To obtain the lines, customers have to present a cedula, a receipt for the equipment that is to be connected to the cellular network and a deposit of ¢12.500 colones.

It is expected that in December the first of the 200.000 new GSM network lines will be offered by ICE, however, following a report made public last Friday by ICE, the introduction of the new lines may be delayed some.

ICE made the announcement following a problem with the Ericsson company being able to deliver the complete network on October 7, due to a situation where ICE has not been able to reach an agreement with land owners for the installation of 9 radio towers.

The network may still be introduced as scheduled, according to ICE officials, but coverage may not be available in some areas. A decision on where to launch the network as scheduled is expected this week or next.
