Nicaraguan Deputies Will Visit Costa Rica to Discuss the Dog Attack Among Other Matters
A group of Nicaraguan Legislative Deputies will be in Costa Rica in the coming week to meet with their counterparts to discuss the dock attack last week that caused the death of a Nicaraguan national. The attack was headline news in Nicaragua and cause for criticism of Costa Rican police.

On the discussion table will also be the controversy over the river San Juan, Costa Rica's decision to take Nicaragua to international court over navigation rights and Nicarauga's retaliation of charging Costa Rican a visa fee and that it is considering making a claim for Guanacaste, which according to Nicaraguans, was stolen from them.

Norman Caldera, Nicaraguan Chancellor, said that his government is analyzing the possibility of taking back the territory which was lost to Costa Rica 149 years ago, as the Partido de Nicoya decided to annex itself and form part of Costa Rica,

Controversy was also generated over Costa Rica's recent approval of a new immigration policy that will affect thousands of Nicaraguans illegal in Costa Rica.

Meanwhile, prosecutor from Nicaragua's Tribunales de Managua, Richard Lara González, will be meeting this morning the two dogs that fatally attacked Leopoldo Natividad Canda Mairena, when he was on private property in a robbey attempt in Cartago. The Cartago head of the Fuerza Pública said on public television that Mairena was known to police, had a police record in Costa Rica for robbery and other crimes.

González will also meet with Costa Rica's Fiscal General (chief prosecutor), Franciso Dall'Anese. Nicaragua is demanding a full and exahustive investigation into the case.
