Sustainability Conference in
Panama
With the challenge to attain a
cleaner and better world,
environmental experts from
different countries are
attending the 3rd Ibero-American
Sustainable Development
Conference in November 16-18, in
this capital.
New challenges to face climate
change plus the need to develop
adequate environmental awareness
will be key topics in this
meeting at Atlapa Conventions
Center.
Specialists from Spain, the US,
Latin America, Europe and this
country will exchange
experiences and outlooks on
important contemporary issues in
six thematic blocs structured in
roundtable discussions.
The event is organized by
Panama's National Environmental
Authority (ANAM) and Spain´s
Environment Ministry with the
general coordination of the
Spanish CONAMA Foundation and
collaboration of the two
countries´ institutions.
Issues will include urban
sustainability, climate change,
biodiversity, infrastructures,
polices and business management.
Alejandra Plass, CONAMA
representative, said the meeting
aims at exchanging experiences
and technologies and creating
collaboration strategies among
companies.
Meanwhile, ANAM administrator
Ligia Castro stated those
exchanges would make possible
application of projects that
combine economic, social and
environmental problems toward
sustainable development.
"Conservation entails
development therefore improves
the country´s social situation,"
Castro added.
