OAS to Observe Venezuelan Elections
The National Electoral Commission (CNE) of Venezuela signed an agreement that allows observers from the Organization of American States (OAS) to oversee the December 4 legislative elections.

The OAS team will be made up of 35 experts from 15 countries who will work in different parts of the country during the elections, along with 150 European Union observers.

More than 14 million Venezuelans are registered to cast their ballots to fill 167 seats in the Venezuelan National Assembly, as well as for representatives to the Latin American (12 seats) and Andean (5 seats) Parliaments.

The most recent poll gave governing MVR (Movimiento V Republica) 58 percent of voter preference, followed by opposition parties Primero Justicia (9), Accion Democratica (4) and Projecto Venezuela (3).

The poll also showed that 78 of every 100 Venezuelan citizens intend to go to the ballot boxes.
