Only 51% Would Vote If Elections Held Today
A recent poll shows that only 51% of Costa Ricans would cast their vote if the elections were held today, while 37% would abstain from voting and 11% are undecided.

The election has just got underway and voters will have their chance to cast their vote a little over two months, the first Sunday in February. The new president would take office in May.

The poll was taken by the Instituto de Estudios Sociales en Población (Idespo) of the Universidad Nacional on the perecption of Costa Ricans towards the election process.

An interesting fact that was noted by the poll was that more than half of Costa Ricans polled didn't believe that the candidates running for the presidency don't consider it to represent a move forward for Costa Rica's future.
