Visitors and Dollars Increase
In the 12 months through last
March, the income from tourism
increased by us$680 million, as
compared to the preceding
period.
That amount is 33
percent larger than the cumulate
through March 2004.
As an
average, each visitor spent 8
percent more in the most recent
period, and the overall number
of tourists arriving at Juan Santamaria International Airport
in Alajuela and Daniel Oduber
International Airport in Liberia
went 23 percent up.
The total of
visitors for the 12 months
analyzed was 1.4 million,
according to official sources.
