Zara Opens In Costa Rica
Internationally latest fashion
trends offering company Zara has
opened its first store in Costa
Rica. The store is located in
San José, at the Multiplaza
shopping centre.
With this opening, Inditex
reaches presence in 57 countries
in Europe, the Americas, Asia,
the Middle East and the north of
Africa.
Zara enters this new market in
cooperation with Grupo Simán, a
distribution company from El
Salvador which operates in the
Central American region. Grupo
Simán is also the franchisee of
Zara in El Salvador, where the
fashion chain was launched in
2002.
Including Costa Rica, Inditex is
now present in 12 countries of
the Americas with more than 180
stores.
Since the beginning of 2005 the
Inditex Group has opened more
than 90 stores, 23 of which
belong to the Zara chain. Among
others, Zara has opened new
stores during this year in
countries such as France,
Germany, the United Kingdom,
Sweden, Ireland, Poland, the
United States, Canada or Japan.
More than 85% of the new Zara
stores have been launched
outside Spain, its domestic
market. The Inditex Group
estimates to open between 300
and 360 new stores in 2005.
Inditex, one of the world’s
largest fashion distributors,
has over 2,300 stores in 57
countries. In addition to Zara,
the largest of its retail chain,
Inditex has another seven
commercial formats: Kiddy’s
Class, Pull and Bear, Massimo
Dutti, Bershka, Stradivarius,
Oysho y Zara Home.
Inditex is quoted on the Spanish
Stock Exchange since 2001. Its
capitalization is over 14,000
million euros.
