Internationally latest fashion trends offering company Zara has opened its first store in Costa Rica. The store is located in San José, at the Multiplaza shopping centre.

With this opening, Inditex reaches presence in 57 countries in Europe, the Americas, Asia, the Middle East and the north of Africa.

Zara enters this new market in cooperation with Grupo Simán, a distribution company from El Salvador which operates in the Central American region. Grupo Simán is also the franchisee of Zara in El Salvador, where the fashion chain was launched in 2002.

Including Costa Rica, Inditex is now present in 12 countries of the Americas with more than 180 stores.

Since the beginning of 2005 the Inditex Group has opened more than 90 stores, 23 of which belong to the Zara chain. Among others, Zara has opened new stores during this year in countries such as France, Germany, the United Kingdom, Sweden, Ireland, Poland, the United States, Canada or Japan. More than 85% of the new Zara stores have been launched outside Spain, its domestic market. The Inditex Group estimates to open between 300 and 360 new stores in 2005.
