Gasoline Prices To Drop in Two
Weeks
Sit down and take a deep breath
- the price of gasoline is going
down. Don't believe it? Then
pinch yourself, because it is
true.
The Refinadora Costarricense de
Petróleo (RECOPE) will make a
formal request on Monday to
reduce the price of a litre of
gasoline by ˘30 colones for a
super, ˘28 for regular and ˘23
for diesel.
The price reduction should come
in about two weeks.
The current price for a litre of
gasoline is now at ˘424 for
super, ˘405 for regular and ˘305
for diesel, after the fourth
increase of the year came into
effect earlier this week.
The reduction is based on the
lower cost of crude oil on world
markets and not on government
intervention. The price
reduction will be a welcome
relief to drivers who have
driven through a ˘69 colone
price hike in fuel prices this
year.
