Rise in Gasoline Caused Shortage
The expected rise in the cost of gasoline happened on schedule on Saturday morning, causing long lines at gas stations around the Central Valley that caused some gasoline stations to run out of the costly fuel.

Most drivers decided to fill the tank on Friday in anticipation of the increase announced earlier in the week and becoming official on Saturday when it was published in the official newspaper La Gaceta.

The price for a litre of super gasoline jumped ˘39 colones, ˘38 colones for regular and ˘30 for diesel.
