No to Regional Passport
The directors of the immigration
services from Central America
met in Tegucigalpa, Honduras,
and were highly critical of the
fact that Costa Rica does not
accept the use of a regional
passport.
The Guatemalan
official, Fernando Sosa, stated
that "the Central American
passport is ready to be adopted
in all of our countries, except
for Costa Rica."
Costa Rica has decided not to
accept the "one" passport that
is being promoted by the other
Central American countries of
Nicaragua, Honduras, El Salvador
and Guatemala.
Costa Rica sites security
reasons for it's decision,
though no specific details are
being offered publicly.
