Long Lines At Immigration After Closing
The lines at immigration yesterday were longer than usual.

This is because of a back log of appointments when the passport office closed for two days last week to make changes that will speed up the issuance of passports.

The new system will also increase the number of passports the office can issue on a daily basis.

At 3:30pm yesterday, immigration officials say they had issued 720 passports, 300 more than usual.

Immigration officials had expected long lines for Monday and were prepared, attending to some 1.261 individuals in one single day. They are predicting that things will get back to normal by tomorrow.

The immigration office opens at 7:30am and closes at 4:00pm.

Those who aren't attended to by closing time, have to come back another day.
