Arias in the Lead Latest Poll
Reveals
Oscar Arias, presidential
candidate for the Partido
Liberación Nacional (PLN) - the
green and white party - is
leading the pack for the 2006
presidential race, according to
a recent poll by Demoscopia
published in the daily Spanish
language newspaper Al Día.
The poll taken between May 21
and June 1 shows that 35.8% of
those polled would vote for
Airas, while in second place is
Partido Acción Ciudadana (PAC)
candidate, Otón Solís, at 12.8%.
Antonio Álvarez Desanti for the
Unión para el Cambio (UPC)
topped 10.4%, followed by
Movimiento Libertario candidate,
Otto Guevara, with 8.2% and last
on the list is Ricardo Toledo
for Partido Unidad Social
Cristiana (PUSC) with 7.3%.
20.8% of those polled said they
would vote none of the
candidates running while 4.8%
are undecided. The margin of
error is 2.8%
