Five killed, 11 injured in
Colombia landslide
Five people were killed and 11
injured in a landslide caused by
heavy rain in northwestern
Colombia on Monday, authorities
said.
Hundreds of tons of rocks and
mud fell to a road near Cisneros
city, Antioquia Department,
early Monday, burying a bus and
a taxi, witnesses said.
Six people were still missing,
and rescuers have been working
there since the landslide to
find survivors and bodies.
The rainy season, starting in
March, will last until late June
or early July, the Hydrology,
Meteorology and Environmental
Studies Institute said.
The institute estimated that
this year's heavy rain has left
at least 35 people dead and more
than 94,000 homeless in
Colombia.
