Lower Deficit
The Ministry of Finance announced that, in the first four months this year, the deficit of the public sector dropped to half what it had been in the same period in 2004.

The actual figures are 0.76% of the Gross Domestic Product January-April 2005, as compared to 1.68% the same months last year.

Minister Federico Carrillo said that this sign was a positive one amidst efforts to improve the economy of Costa Rica.
